Day 1: Arrival in Ha Noi (Early Check-in) (B)
Upon arriving in Hanoi, you will be greeted by our guide and escorted to your hotel. Known for its romantic tree-lined boulevards and elegant colonial architecture, Hanoi remains one of Asia’s most captivating cities. Enjoy an early check-in followed by breakfast.
In the afternoon, you will explore the Ho Chi Minh Complex, where you’ll have the opportunity to view the embalmed body of Ho Chi Minh and stroll through the peaceful gardens surrounding the two houses where he lived and worked from 1954 to 1969. You will also visit the iconic One Pillar Pagoda, dedicated to the Goddess of Mercy and renowned as one of the most unique pagodas in the world.
Next, visit the Temple of Literature, built in 1070 to honor Confucius and later established as Vietnam’s first Royal National University. The site pays tribute to 82 Vietnamese scholars who passed rigorous imperial examinations; their names, birthdates, and birthplaces are inscribed on headstones mounted atop stone tortoises. It is widely believed that touching the tortoise heads brings good luck. With its serene green courtyards, meticulously tended gardens, and lotus-filled ponds, the temple provides a peaceful escape from the city’s bustle and heat.
Continue to Tran Quoc Pagoda, located on Golden Fish Island in West Lake. Dating back to the 6th century, it is considered the oldest pagoda in Hanoi.
In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, exploring historical landmarks, lively markets, traditional homes, and bustling shops. Proceed to Hang Be Market to experience the energetic atmosphere where locals purchase a wide variety of daily goods. Stroll through lively streets lined with vendors before stopping at Hang Quat Street to visit a traditional stamp maker. The tour continues to St. Joseph’s Cathedral, an elegant French-built structure dating back to 1887.
Overnight at a hotel in Hanoi.
Important notes:
• Please dress modestly, covering your shoulders and knees when visiting the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, temples, and pagodas.
• The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed on Mondays and Fridays.
• The Mausoleum is also closed annually for maintenance for approximately two months (from 15 June to 15 August). During this period, visitors can still take photos of the exterior and tour the surrounding area.

At 08:00 AM, depart for the Cu Chi Tunnels, located 75 km northwest of Ho Chi Minh City. This vast underground network once served as a crucial hideout and resistance base for Viet Cong forces during the wars against the French and later the Americans. Entirely hand-dug, the tunnels formed an intricate multi-level system extending over 120 km, in some areas reaching close to the Cambodian border.
The complex was astonishingly sophisticated, featuring meeting rooms, kitchens, wells, clinics, schools, storage areas, trenches, and emergency exits—each designed to support guerrilla warfare. Built deep underground, the tunnels were strong enough to withstand heavy bombardment and self-sufficient enough to endure long sieges.
