Day 1: Arrival in Melbourne

Day 2: Hobbiton - Rotorua (B)

Prepare for a magical journey into Middle-earth. Today's tour takes you through New Zealand's rolling green hills to the iconic Hobbiton™ Movie Set. Here, you'll step into the enchanting world of The Shire as your guide reveals the secrets behind the making of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. Wander past charming Hobbit Holes, see the famous Mill, and learn how a working sheep farm was transformed into a living piece of cinematic history. Your adventure is capped off with a hearty lunch at the cozy Green Dragon™ Inn before you continue your journey to Rotorua for the evening.

Day 3: Rotorua (B)

Welcome to Rotorua, a landscape alive with primal energy and ancient culture. Here, hissing steam vents, erupting geysers, and bubbling mud pools are set against a backdrop of serene lakes and majestic forests. This land is deeply intertwined with Maori myths and legends, which you'll experience firsthand this afternoon. You will be brought to Te Puia, the heart of Maori culture and geothermal wonder. Your guided tour will lead you through the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, the Kiwi Conservation Centre, and the dramatic geothermal valley. As dusk settles, you’ll enjoy a traditional Hangi feast overlooking the powerful Pohutu Geyser, followed by a captivating cultural performance of song and dance. The magical evening ends with hot chocolate and dessert on the geyser terrace before returning for your overnight stay in Rotorua.

Day 4: Rotorua - Queenstown (B) - (Flight Not Included)

Your journey continues this morning with a domestic flight to Queenstown. Upon arrival in this stunning alpine resort, you will understand why it is renowned as the "Adventure Capital of the World." The town is cradled by majestic mountains and set against magnificent vistas, offering a vast natural playground for exploration and adventure. You will spend the night in Queenstown.

Day 5:Queenstown - Milford Sound - Queenstown (B, L)

Your breathtaking tour today winds past mirror-still lakes and cascading waterfalls, leading you into the heart of Milford Sound—a majestic fiord carved by ancient glaciers and hailed as the eighth wonder of the world. Day 6: Mt Cook - Christchurch (B)

Embark on an epic overland journey from Queenstown to Christchurch, a route showcasing the South Island's most dramatic landscapes. Your adventure begins by winding through the stunning Kawarau Gorge and past the fertile orchards and vineyards of Cromwell. Follow the shores of beautiful Lake Dunstan before ascending the dramatic, tussock-covered Lindis Pass. You will then emerge into the vast Mackenzie Basin, a breathtaking expanse where magnificent turquoise lakes shimmer beneath the towering peaks of Aoraki/Mount Cook and the Southern Alps. Here, you'll have free time to soak in the grandeur of Mount Cook Village. As you continue, the epic scenery makes it obvious why The Lord of the Rings was filmed nearby. A poignant stop at the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd, standing in quiet solitude on the banks of Lake Tekapo, precedes your final leg through the Canterbury plains to Christchurch, your destination for the night.
